Reporting to the Caucus Outreach Director, this position’s primary goal is to support the development of successful relationships and engagement practices between the Government Caucus and the public.

The Caucus Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the following key areas:


  • Support and coordinate caucus outreach and events.
  • Support MLAs and COs in the development and implementation of regional outreach strategies/stakeholder engagement plans and support the organizing of community/regional events (e.g. Vaisakhi, Lunar New Year, etc.).
  • Support regional caucus structures.
  • Assist where appropriate with constituency level outreach advice/direction.
  • Maintain the days of significance and proclamations calendar.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Detailed Responsibilities:

Regional Caucus Support

  • Working with the Regional Caucus Chair, support assigned regional caucuses with development and implementation of regional or community-specific outreach plans.
  • Provide support for regional caucus meetings.
  • Support the Regional Caucus with stakeholder/validator list building, event attendance, and other outreach initiatives.
  • Work with Caucus Liaison, MOs, RCOs and Regional Caucus on major or minor projects in region with building of stakeholder and validator lists, charting out of milestones and other elements of the regional outreach plan.
  • Support the Regional Caucus with briefing on key issues, projects and commitments in their region.

Caucus Outreach and Events

  • Work with the Caucus Events Coordinator and the Whip’s Office on ensuring strong MLA attendance at events
  • Work with stakeholders across government and caucus to support coordination of MLA participation in strategic events, announcements, and meetings.
  • Maintain an annual list of events provincewide – with specific focus on key priority regions.
  • Maintain the days of significance and proclamations calendar.
  • Work with the Deputy Caucus Chair, RCO, and LA assigned to coordinate 30-minute meetings during session, producing follow up thank you emails, and posting photos to social media.
  • Supporting role in planning outreach portions of caucus-wide events (e.g. Caucus Retreat), MLA tours, and other community outreach opportunities.

Constituency Outreach Support

  • Respond to CO requests on event participation or outreach-related requests and liaise with the ministry responsible, if necessary.

  • Experience managing multiple projects and leading projects.
  • Experience working in an outreach or communication field.
  • Experience working with elected officials.
  • Will be familiar with anti-racist, intersectional engagement strategies and values oriented to work, with empathy to foster meaningful relationships with stakeholders across the province.
  • Will have a curious mindset, be willing to research & adapt best practices and ideas from other jurisdictions.
  • Will have experience cultivating thoughtful engagement practices and the skills to deliver long term strategic outreach plans.
  • Must be able to travel. Valid BC Driver’s License is required and access to a vehicle is an asset.
  • Proficiency in other languages, such as Mandarin, Cantonese or Punjabi, is an asset.
